Corporate social responsibility
Peace of mind also comes from helping others. As a major employer, we believe its important to give something back to the communities in which we work and operate. Our staff are the best placed to identify which charities we support: support that includes time and expertise as well as fund raising for specific projects. This type of community involvement is an important element of our corporate social responsibility which not only reflects what the company stands for, but runs through everything we do.
Customers
Our customers are crucial to our future success and we continue to improve what we offer them. Our annual customer satisfaction surveys include questions about what brokers and customers want us to provide and their views form part of the product design process to make sure our products continue to meet their needs.
Workplace
Our staff make a huge contribution to the business and we make sure we provide an environment of learning and development as well as listen and act on their views. Our staff satisfaction survey is an annual event and all staff can take part in discussions to suggest ideas for improving the business. We also ask staff for their views on our community and charity involvement.
Community
Ecclesiastical has increased its activities in the community, our Human Resources department in Gloucester provide advice for some schools, and staff regularly listen to children read at a local primary school.
Environment
As part of our commitment to protecting the environment, we have an environment policy, with an Environmental Monitoring Group setting and monitoring environmental targets. In our Gloucester offices we launched a successful paper recycling campaign, which has reduced our waste by nearly a third. Other recycling initiatives are in place and will increase following staff suggestions and enthusiasm.
Our commitment to the community
Ecclesiasticals commitment to giving back to the community extends far beyond a community policy. We consider the community to be an integral part of how we work and an important part of our success.
Ecclesiastical supports national and local charities and community organisations through donations, fundraising and support programmes.
In the UK we also continue to support the Church through an annual competition and the Ministry Bursary Awards.
